Learn to build with NXT2 Mindstorms Robotics technology, design architecture, program with intelligent microcomputer brick, add sensors to complete your invention, solve problems through robotics innovation, design and engineering.

Age Groups: Grades K to 9.
Program Length: 1/2 day for 5 days, Monday-Friday

Robotics in Engineering

Participants incorporate what they learn about robot architecture, end effectors, sensors and programming to command their bot. Projects are theme based and incorporate activities in sports, adventure, search & rescue, the Amazing Race, BattleBots & more.

Can Do Robotics
Can Do Robotics actively engages your child’s creative thinking, introduces concepts and establishes building blocks to design, build and program robotic projects. Put on your thinking cap to solve problems and challenges through fun robo invention with all elements in the lab. We add ingenuity to create a mix of practical and wacky projects.

Introduction to Robotics
This program introduces robotic concepts and establishes the building blocks to design, build and program robotic projects. Participants work in small teams and individually on bot projects. Introduction to Robotics is required for participants grades 1 -2 before participating in another robotic program.

RoboQuest Gr. 1-3
Embark on your RoboQuest to design, build and program your bot. Follow your quest and take on the challenges of sumo, battlebots, search & rescue, obstacle courses, track rover, moon rover, even robo quidditch.

Jr. BBots
It’s Junior BattleBot time! Create a robo-alien with special powers or a fierce, battling, dinobot to race and battle in our junior robot battle?

BattleBots
It’s BattleBot time! Enter the robot building lab as you design & program your very own all new, motorized creature. Will you create a robo-alien with special powers or a fierce, battling, dinobot to race and battle in our robot battle?

RoboQuest+
Embark on your RoboQuest to design, build and program your bot. Follow your quest and take on the challenges of sumo, battlebots, search & rescue, obstacle courses, track rover, moon rover, even robo quidditch.

RoboChallenger
Are you a RoboChallenger? We will match wits in a series of robochallenges including Sumo, Tug o War, Obstacle Course Race, BattleBot, Speed Racer & more!

RoboSports
Are you ready sports fans? Can you create a robot sports star? Design, build and program your robot to compete against other robots and other teams. Challenge your creativity and thinking skills on this robo playing field.

RoboSpace Race
This is the great robo space race modeled after the Great Moonbuggy Race. Design and race your space bot over the obstacle course and race course. Program your bot and strategize your bot sensors to meet the challenge. This is a mission like no other. A Martian storm or “Houston we have a problem”. Design and build your space bot’s mission saving strategies.

RoboRivals
Can your bot rise to the rivals challenge? Design, build and program your bot to race, battle and compete in RoboRival matches.

Robotics & Invention

Participants are challenged to solve problems through invention and design. Activities are driven by the Big Idea, challenge projects, prototypes, testing and reinvention.

Gadgets & Gizmos
Hey mini inventors! Let’s make cool and crazy gadgets & gizmos! Our inventions will be inspired by Dr. Seuss, Science Kids, Kid Inventors, inventions all around us, and awesome creativity. There’s fun to be done! K

Cool Contraptions
This invention based program is all about building contraptions, vehicles and machines that move. Gears, beams, pulleys, wheels, axles, pieces that snap and flex. Everything we need to invent cool things that move.

XTreme Contraptions

We take Cool Contraptions to the next level building contraptions with an increased emphasis on invention, mechanisms and motion. Gears, beams, pulleys, wheels, axles, pneumatic motors, robotics and remote controls. This is extreme invention.

Inventions in Motion
It’s hand-on fun and learning as we make everything move with motors, remote controls & green energy. Participants test their creations in crazy races, feats of motor madness and obstacle course maneuvers.

Junkyard Challenge
You are challenged to design and build the fastest, strongest, smallest, largest, lightest, heaviest, most maneuverable, most durable, and coolest machines and structures to accomplish a series of junkyard challenges. Rube Goldberg would be proud! All building elements in the junkyard are used including bricks, Technic pieces, gears, motors, found items and robotics.

Ingenuity Project
Create machines with personality…contraptions that race, dance, rise to the challenge of search & rescue, perform stunts that amaze and amuse. We will customize our bots, experiment with sensors and remote controls and learn the essentials of design and structure. Get ready to take it to the next level. Ingenious! All building elements are used including bricks, Technic pieces, gears, motors, and robotics.

Project Innovation
In this Lab program innovation and design drive solutions. Programs activities are more advanced with an emphasis on innovation, design, problem solving, prototype & testing through a series of challenge projects.
